Members of Fontaines D.C. have spoken out about Oasis‘s return – and their feedback have caught the eye of Liam Gallagher. 

In a radio interview with Studio Brussel, [per NME], Fontaines D.C. band members Carlos O’Connell and Conor Deegan III share their ideas on the Oasis reunion, stating that nostalgia typically comes at the price of new artwork.

“I couldn’t actually give a shit, to be trustworthy,” O’Connell replies when requested in regards to the Gallagher brothers’ patching issues up. 

Deegan provides: “I’m not enthusiastic about it both, to be trustworthy. I really feel like we get caught within the final period – just like the ’10s – and into such a nostalgic factor that we’re forgetting to make new issues.

The guitarist continues, “I really feel like what we have been desirous to do with this document [2024’s Romance] anyway was to look into the long run and make new issues… So for Oasis to reform at this second for us is absolutely annoying.”

The feedback, nevertheless, didn’t go unnoticed as Liam Gallagher has since hit again with a fast response. 

Gallagher chimed in on the subject when requested about them by a fan on X whether or not Fontaines DC may very well be a doable opening act for Oasis’ upcoming tour. The musician replies: “Fuck them little spunkbubbles I’ve seen higher dressed ROADIES.”

Gallagher doubled down on his response replying to a different fan who confirmed help for the Irish band. “They appear like a shit EMF,” he replies.

As Deegan and O’Connell face backlash from Gallagher, Fontaines DC’s lead singer Grian Chatten has posted a remark clarifying that he doesn’t really feel the identical about Oasis as his fellow bandmates. 

Responding to an NME publish on Instagram, Chatten feedback: “I like Oasis. This isn’t my opinion.”

The Gallagher brothers’ resolution to revive Oasis hit headlines as did their upcoming world tour, ‘Oasis Stay 25’, which has seen unprecedented demand, with all 14 preliminary stadium dates offered out. 

The band’s first run of dates embody two reveals at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, 4 at Heaton Park of their hometown of Manchester, 4 dates at London’s Wembley Stadium, two at Edinburgh’s Scottish Fuel Murrayfield Stadium, and two at Dublin’s Croke Park.

Since then, Oasis have added two further dates in London for September 2025 for followers who couldn’t snag tickets within the first sale. 

It’s no secret the Gallaghers brothers love a spat — Oasis publicly break up up in 2009, with the siblings taking photographs at one another all through the years. The siblings each stayed within the business with Liam performing and touring independently and Noel forming The Excessive Flying Birds. 

Oasis formally introduced their shock reunion with a brand new press shot by Simon Emmett and witty remark: “The weapons have fallen silent. The celebs have aligned. The good wait is over. Come see. It is not going to be televised.”
